Chapman Launches New Alumni in Healthcare Reception
Our community faces a critical and ongoing shortage of healthcare professionals, and Chapman University is stepping up to address this pressing need. Committed to both immediate and long-term solutions, the university is creating pathways that cultivate a robust pipeline of highly skilled individuals entering the healthcare field.
Chapman alumni are already making a significant impact across the industry—serving as clinical care providers such as physician assistants, pharmacists and physical therapists, and excelling in essential roles such as healthcare administration, communications, marketing, human resources and more.
Now, these accomplished alumni are invited to attend a special event aimed at advancing the university’s leadership in health care education. The Alumni in Healthcare Reception will acknowledge the incredible contributions of Chapman alumni and their growing impact in Orange County and beyond. This new annual event will also bring awareness to Chapman’s strategic plan goal to expand graduate health science programs and draw attention to the many ways that Chapman and Chapman alumni are making a difference within the healthcare industry.
“We are inspired by the contributions our alumni are making in the health care field,” said Kala Karden, director of alumni engagement. “We’re excited to reconnect with these alumni, build a strong and supportive network, and to identify meaningful ways for them to mentor and support the next generation of health care professionals.”

Groundbreaking research, impactful community programs and curricula designed to improve quality of life for the aging population of Orange County and beyond.
Alumni with an interest in supporting Chapman students and their fellow alumni will have the opportunity to learn about different ways they can contribute to building a strong university-to-career pipeline through career and internship opportunities, mentorship, job shadowing, guest lecturing and more.
This event is loosely modeled after Chapman’s successful Alumni Entertainment Industry Mixer. “We felt it was the right time to expand our focus and to highlight another important industry where our alumni are making a positive impact,” said Karden.
The Alumni in Healthcare Reception will take place on Nov. 14, from 6–8 p.m. at the Twenty-Eight Steak & Whiskey Bar in Irvine. Along with complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, attendees will hear a university update with a focus on Chapman’s growing impact in the healthcare industry.
Attendance is free, but attendees must register by Nov. 6.
